Congratulations to the boys and girls track and field teams for winning the Lake County Championship!

Tavares defeated all other Lake County middle schools by over a combined 250 points.

The Patriots won ALL SIX relay championships and had 12 individual district champions! The girls' and boys' 4x400m teams qualified for the state championship as well!

AVID Showcase! Our students worked incredibly hard and were excited to share their learning and accomplishments with the school! 🎉 On display was a variety of student work highlighting growth in writing, note-taking, and project-based learning. Each grade focused on a unique theme:
• 6th Grade: Career exploration projects
• 7th Grade: College readiness through dorm room research
• 8th Grade: Personal projects representing their true selves

We are very proud of our 8th grade STEAM team who participated in STEAM Bowl today!

Our 6th/7th grade STEAM team earned second place at the Lake County Steam Bowl! Way to represent TMS! ❤️🤍💙

On Friday, our Jazz Band performed at the Orange Blossom Jazz Festival! All of the students had an amazing time and performed incredibly well on stage. Following their performance, the band participated in a clinic with one of the festival judges, where students received valuable feedback and tips to help them continue growing as musicians. We are very proud of their hard work, professionalism, and outstanding representation of our school!

April is the Month of the Military Family in Florida! The Month of the Military Family provides communities with an opportunity to honor and share gratitude for the service of military children. This year, we invite you to “Purple Up!” on April 15, 2026, by wearing purple as a visible way to show support and thank military children. Purple was chosen because it is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military. It is a combination of Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine Corps red, Space Force blue and Navy blue. Students and staff in schools across Florida are encouraged to participate in this celebration of the courage of military families and to honor their hard work.
